On Saturday 17th April 2010, the Australian Islamic Mission was fortunate to host Sh Mohammed Al-Luhaidan and Sh Ayman Al-Olayan at the Punchbowl Musallah. Sh Al-Luhaidan lead the prayer for salaatul-ishaa and recited beautifully from the Glorious Quran. His recitation was inspirational and touched the hearts of many worshippers.
After the prayer both Sh Al-Olayan and Sh Al-Luhaidan gave short talks on the topic “Allah loves those who repent.” Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Br Ahmed Al-Sharif.
Sheikh Al-Luhaidan is a judge and Imam in Saudi Arabia with a unique emotional style of reciting the Quran.
Sheikh Ayman Al-Olayan is an Islamic studies teacher and syllabus writer for several universities and schools in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi scholars’ visit to Sydney on a Lecture Tour was coordinated by the Islamic Council of NSW’s School Scripture Program.
AIM hosted a dinner after the talks for the two guests along with Dr Abdulhamid Al-Qudah from Jordan who was also in Australia on a Lecture Tour (see report).
